I am a flute player and teacher originally from England. I trained at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance from 2011-2015 before working as a professional freelance flute player in London. During this time I was lucky enough to perform with fantastic orchestras in London and across the UK. As a founding memeber of the Risatina Wind Quintet I saw considerable success as a chamber artist. With the Risatina quintet I toured across the UK and won several competitions including the June Emmerson Chamber Music Competition. As a solo artist I performed throughout London in both recitals and competitions – I was a finalist in the Bromsgrove Internaiton Music Competition and a Semi-finalist in the Trinity Laban Concerto Competition to name a couple.
Throughout my career as a musician I have always dedicated time to teaching children and adults alike. I am a passionate, enthusiastic and supportive teacher. I always strive to bring out the best ability in all my students whilst also encouraging and fun and safe place to practice their craft. I adapt my teaching style and the goals for each individual as I firmly believe there is no set curriculum that will work for everyone. Whilst living in London I taught privately and for 2 schools – one primary specialist music school and one secondary school. I have seen students achieve great success in both ABRSM and Trinity exams (Grades 1-8) for both Flute and Recorder. I have also taught 1:1 and in group classes.
I gave up my music career in 2017 to train as a paediatric nurse, a career I still love and has bought me over to Australia lat year. Now that I am settled here however I wanted to recommence teaching music – something I absolutely love to do. I am looking for students of any age and standard who are keen to learn.
