Andrew Chubb, B.Mus(Hons) L.Mus.A. L.T.C.L. A.Mus.A., is a pianist and composer and a highly regarded piano teacher throughout Newcastle and Sydney. He is a former lecturer at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music and currently teaches piano at The Kings School in Sydney. Andrew also operates a seperate private studio in Newcastle. In addition to teaching piano, his years of experience also as a violinist, violist and musicology and harmony/aural lecturing add to his holistic, organic and diverse approach to pedagogy for students of all levels and stages of pianistic development – early beginners through to avanced students. Through Andrew’s teaching, many students of various stages from beginner to Associate and Licentiate Diploma level (AMEB and Trinity) have achieved considerable success in developing important musical, technical and ‘thinking’ skills associated with a deep understanding and passion for classical music of all genres. Andrew is also an experienced eisteddfod adjudicator and has given piano master classes to students of various levels throughout NSW. A number of his students have successfully gained AMEB, Trinity Diplomas and have progressed onto tertiary studies at Sydney Conservatorium, Brisbane Conservatorium, Melbourne Conservatorium and Monash University.
