After watching an AC/DC concert at 15, Matt knew his future; all the energy, all the sound, all the people…all the music!
Since then, with almost 10 years of live show experience, he has worked hard to become a session musician based in Brisbane, is part of the JMC University Ensemble Staff, and studied his Graduate Certificate – Creative Industries (SAE) and Bachelor of Music – Contemporary Performance (JMC). Matt has played countless concerts across the East Coast of Australia with artists such as Taylor Moss (1.6 million Spotify streams and highest streamed female country music artist in Australia 2022, Gympie Music Muster, Brisbane EKKA Festival), Patient Lounge (supported Wolfmother, COG, played Big Sound Festival, Dead of Winter Festival), Will Day (supported Icehouse, Diesel, Shannon Noll, Baby Animals, Black Sorrows), and Jade Not Jane (80,000 Spotify streams, QUBE Effect Finalist). He’s played Gold Coast Titans home CBUS Super Stadium, RedFest supporting Gang Gajang, and has recorded with Steve James (Aria Awarded Producer and Engineer, Grammy Nominated, Monty Python, Shirley Bassey, The Jam, The Sex Pistols, The Angels, Cold Chisel), and Engineer Peter Rutcho (Danny Elfman, The Ghost Inside, Parkway Drive).
Matt’s motto about teaching is simple; better than you were yesterday. He strives to push himself to become the best musician he can be, and to pass these lessons on to his students.
