My name is Blanka and I am an experienced cellist and passionate teacher based in St Kilda, Victoria. I am dedicated to sharing the joy of playing the cello with students of all ages. I have been working as a cellist for over 15 years, performing regularly with the Four Seasons String Quartet and the Stonnington Symphony Orchestra.
I have a university degree with Honours in the Arts and have been awarded the Australian Music Examinations Board Certificate of Performance. I am a member of the Australian Music Teachers Register (AMTR) as well as the Victorian Music Teachers Association (VMTA). I have a valid working with children’s check.
I offer enjoyable and engaging lessons tailored to suit each individual student. While I use a traditional classical approach focusing on technique, tone, and musicality, my methods can also incorporate the Kodaly and Suzuki teachings.
I teach students from as young as 5 years old to adults. For beginners, I provide a strong grounding in technique, music theory, and aural skills. I also offer preparation for AMEB examinations. Parents are most welcome to sit in on lessons.
I welcome you for an introductory lesson with no obligation to continue. I can offer 30-, 45-, or 60-minute lessons, at $50 / $65 / $85 respectively (2024 prices).
