Catherine began playing piano at the age of six. After a few years, she started to participate in a range of piano competitions, winning numerous awards across Melbourne (South Eastern Arts Festival, Boroondara, Ringwood, Monash, Ballarat, Latrobe, By the Bay, Gippsland, Kris Krans music award) and interstate (Australian Piano Sauter National final). In 2019, she was offered a place in the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School where she commenced studying with her current teacher Glenn Riddle. At the age of 14, Catherine received her Associate Diploma in Piano and has also been awarded her Licentiate Diploma in 2021. In 2022, Catherine was invited to play for the Kingston City Council, playing numerous times on 3MBS radio(103.5 fm) as well as being named the recipient of the 2022 VMTA Kault Piano Prize. She was the winner of the 2022 open section in the Royal South Street Eisteddfod, winner of the Monash Youth Music Festival and By the Bay eisteddfod. In 2023 and 2024 she was invited to perform at Tempo Rubato, Melbourne Graduate House(University of Melbourne), St Pauls Cathedral and the Lyceum Club. Currently, she is studying in her last year of the Bachelor of Music Performance at Melbourne University. She is the recipient of the Bachelor of Music Entrance Grant, Grace Funston Scholarship Mckay Pianoforte Scholarship and Pearis Rodger Scholarship generously sponsored by the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Melbourne. Apart from being a performer, Catherine has found passion in spreading her love for music and knowledge to others. She has been teaching since 2019. Catherine appreciates how each student is unique and strives to help them discover their creative side.
