Tara is a classically trained cellist who started her musical journey at age 8 on cello, then piano at age 9.
She completed a Bachelor of Music (BMus) at Monash University in 2023. Tara has a passion for sharing her love of music with others in the hope others can also find a love in music.
Tara completed all AMEB grades in high school and completed VCE music performance in 2019. Tara has been teaching privately since late 2019 of students aged 5 to 65 from beginners to advanced players.
Tara was principal cello in her school and University orchestras, played in various quartets, trios, duos, quintets and octets. She has also played at various events including; recitals, high teas, community concerts, church services, memorials, academic and graduation ceremonies.
She has attended masterclasses by; David Berlin, Daniel Muller-Schott, Zoe Knighton, Jean-Guihen Queyras and Louise Hopkins. Tara has competed in various competitions including; Boroondara music Eisteddfods in orchestra, concerto competitions and she was a finalist in the National Bach Competition in 2017 where she performed solo in Melbourne Recital Centre. Tara also won the opportunity to play Elgar’s Cello Concerto with orchestra in 2018.
Tara played with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) in the project ‘Symphony in a Day’ sitting first desk alongside Rachael Tobin in 2023.
Tara has been teaching privately for 4 years and also teaches part time at various secondary schools.
