Debbie Ellison
About

Debbie started playing musical instruments at 7 years of age. Having studied flute with Margaret Crawford and Gerhard Mallon and piano with Betty Vergara, she graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium in 1988 with High Distinctions in both instruments. Having begun violin as a teenager she went on to learn with Tor Fromhyr after graduating. She has since established a name as one of the most respected and dedicated music teachers in Brisbane and has taught at many of the leading private schools.

Debbie enjoys teaching flute, violin and piano to children aged 4 and over, as well as adults. Debbie’s aim is to develop each person’s potential to express themselves through music, with music that appeals to the student. There are opportunities to perform at eisteddfods and concerts throughout the year if desired, and Debbie is happy to prepare students for auditions/exams or help with school band or string ensemble music if needed.

Debbie welcomes enquiries for flute, violin or piano lessons and has a number of loan instruments available, including flutes for small children. Piano students do not need to have a piano initially, but can learn on a keyboard and keyboard hire is available. The studio is air conditioned with a leafy outlook and is in a quiet street with ample shaded parking available.
