As a singing teacher, I am passionate about sharing the joys of music and singing. I aim to nurture each individual voice by developing secure technique, balanced posture, correct vowel production and effective breathing, all whilst developing musicality and having fun.
After completing a BMus. Ed. at The University of Melbourne, I was very fortunate to complete Post Graduate Studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London in vocal performance made possible by a fully funded scholarship from The Associated Board of the Royal Colleges of Music. Whilst in attendance at the Academy I also received a Licentiate of Vocal Music Teaching. Further activities included languages, acting, movement, performance, detailed studies of various song genres and opera, participating in many master classes with renowned musicians from all over the world. I have extensive experience performing as a soloist in both recital and opera, sung with many choirs, both here and in the UK.
My teaching experience includes vocal teaching appointments in several prestigious private schools in Cambridge UK, before returning to Australia. I’ve had students received vocal scholarships for private schools and excellent exam results. Although classically trained, I have also taught repertoire from various genres, including musical theatre, modern ballads and contemporary. I also offer music theory lessons to grade 4 and beginner piano having completed AMEB grade 8 piano.
I have a comfortable dedicated teaching studio with plenty of nearby parking. I hold a current Working with Children Check for the self-employed and have up to date First Aid Level 2 training with Asthma management and Anaphylaxis/Epi-pen administration.
