From the age of four, music has been the heartbeat of my life. I completed my Bachelor of Music at the Melbourne University Conservatorium of Music under the guidance of Prudence Davis, the principal flautist of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Further honing my skills, I pursued postgraduate studies at the Graz Conservatorium of Music and Dramatic Arts with Dieter Flury of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, and at the Royal College of Music under Paul Edmund Davies from the London Symphony Orchestra.
My professional journey has seen me perform with prestigious orchestras across Australia and internationally, including the Darwin Symphony Orchestra, the Graz Opera Company, and the Melbourne Sinfonia, along with numerous chamber music ensembles. These experiences have not only enriched my playing but have also provided me with a deep understanding of the collaborative nature of music-making.
As a teacher, I am dedicated to creating a supportive and inspiring learning environment. I believe in tailoring my approach to suit each student’s individual needs, fostering both technical proficiency and musical expressiveness. My teaching philosophy centres on building a strong foundation while encouraging creativity and a love for music. I am committed to helping students achieve their personal goals, whether they aspire to perform professionally or simply wish to enjoy playing the flute.
Join me on a musical journey where we can explore the flute’s rich repertoire, develop your unique sound, and share the joy of making music together.
