A graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and a Queens Trust Award winner for Opera Studies in the UK, I am also a teaching graduate of the University of Queensland in the areas of Music and English. I provide an in-depth knowledge of music and English language studies and encourage students and learners to embrace all aspects of texts, songs and musical works, including developing foreign language skills, musicianship and theory and performance practice.
I have performed extensively with Opera Queensland, The Queensland Pops Orchestra, numerous solo performances in Brisbane and Sunshine Coast and engage in a continued professional development program to enable my students to receive currency in their learning.
VOICE AND PERFORMANCE TEACHING
With extensive stage performance experience, I work with students in increasing their understanding and awareness of text, music and creative production. I believe in supporting and nurturing their development and engaging with them to encourage excellence throughout their musical life.
In Role Play tuition I engage students to explore the nature and character of roles they are preparing for in opera, music theatre and plays.
Theory and Musicianship tuition are provided as part of the voice tuition and also in preparation for exams. Separate theory exams can also be undertaken.
EXAMINATIONS
AMEB and other exam syllabus preparation across Singing, Singing for Leisure and Musical Theatre. Theory and Musicianship exam preparation is also taught.
ENGLISH TUTORING
An experienced English tutor and teacher, I engage students in using language capabilities to always extend their capabilities to respond to questions raised, both in school scenarios and life scenarios.
