About

Dr. Martin Comte is an Emeritus Professor. Prior to this he was Professor Music Education and Dean of a university Faculty of Education.
Martin has extensive experience in teaching piano to children and adults as well as training music teachers.
He holds a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education from The University of Melbourne, a Master of Education from La Trobe University and a PhD in Music Education from The University of Michigan.
He is a recipient of an Order of Australia award (OAM), an Honorary Life Member and Fellow of the Australian Society for Music Education and a Fellow of the Australian College of Educators. Martin has written extensively on music, the arts and creativity. His most recent books include Musical Dimensions and Australian Pianists.
He enjoys teaching beginners and advanced students, as well as adults taking-up piano for the first time – or returning to the instrument after a prolonged absence. He is registered to teach children with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
