MY TEACHING STYLE
My primary objective as a teacher is to assist students in experiencing the joy of playing music and unleashing their inner creativity. This means that I tend to emphasise improvisation and playing songs – which sometimes takes the form of us forming a band together (with me on piano) so that we can bring your favourite songs to life!
In order to benefit the most from these creative activities, however, it is crucial that a student receives adequate training in technique and theory. For this reason, a substantial portion of lessons will be devoted to developing effective practice habits, establishing a strong technical foundation on the instrument and taking the time to understand musical theory.
I will provide all of the expertise and mentoring – the only thing that is required from you is effort and willingness to learn!
THE STUDIO
My room is a purpose built, soundproofed studio that is equipped with everything we need to achieve your musical goals.

About me – I’m 24 years old and hold a Bachelor of Music degree from the James Morrison Academy. My specialisation is drum kit, however the depth of my experience as a musician extends beyond this into many other instruments as well.
Currently, I am on staff as an instrumental tutor, classroom music teacher and ensemble mentor at two prominent Melbourne schools. I am also performing in various settings such as wedding/corporate gigs, musicals and big bands – I am interested in a diverse range of genres and can assist you with any style of drumming that you choose.
I am available from Monday-Thursday 5pm-9pm, as well as Sundays. Come in for one-off lessons, or get a reduced rate by enrolling for a term (nine lessons).
