Elizabeth Pisarek studied piano and violin at the University of Western Australia where she completed her Bachelor of Music majoring in Performance on both piano and violin with violin being her second instrumental study. In Perth she studied the piano with Alice Carrard and the violin with Vaughan Hanly. Upon completion of her degree she played the violin professionally in the WA Arts Orchestra (formerly the WA Opera Company) and also freelanced as both a pianist and violinist. She also commenced some private music teaching in a private studio. In 1980 she was awarded a Polish Government scholarship to study the violin at the Warsaw Conservatorium of Music. She studied violin in Poland for three years with Doc. Henryk Palulis between 1980 and 1983. She returned to WA in 1983 and continued playing the violin professionally in the WA Arts Orchestra as well as doing some private teaching. In 1988 she moved to Sydney where she began teaching music as a peripatetic instrumental teacher. Elizabeth completed her Dip.Ed in 1991 and until 2009 has taught High school music curriculum including HSC Music in both NSW Education Department and Private Colleges throughout Sydney.
Elizabeth has retired from classroom teaching now teaches violin, piano and theory exclusively in her private studio.
