Ellie LEE is a dedicated pianist and educator with over a decade of piano study and years of teaching experience. She has worked extensively with students of all ages, from young beginners as young as three to teenagers and adults. Ellie’s teaching philosophy is informed by her dual academic background, as she holds a Bachelor of Music (Performance) and a Bachelor of Psychology from the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance, Monash University. Her approach integrates technical mastery with psychological insights to foster creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.
Ellie’s achievements as a pianist are a testament to her dedication to excellence. In 2017, she earned a Grade 8 Distinction in Piano from Trinity College London. Two years later, she was awarded the prestigious Associateship Diploma (ATCL) from Trinity College London for Piano Solo performance and achieved recognition as the first runner-up in the Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association Piano Competition. Her academic accomplishments include earning a perfect score in IB Music, complemented by an “A” grade for her extended essay on Music Analysis.
Ellie takes immense pride in her students’ outstanding achievements. Many have excelled in AMEB and TCL Piano and Music Theory exams, earning distinctions and high honors, while others have won prizes in competitions and delivered remarkable performances in recitals. These successes highlight her commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a supportive, inspiring environment for growth.
As a performer, Ellie has showcased her talent in various settings. She has appeared at The Ian Centre for Performing Arts, reached the final round of the Monash Piano Duo Prize in 2022, and won the Australian Music Prize the same year. Her professional experience also includes working with Musica Viva, Australia’s largest presenter of live music. In 2023, Ellie performed a solo concert at the Monash Music Auditorium and was featured in Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals during the Monash Family Fiesta at the Alexander Theatre.
A proud member of the Victorian Music Teachers’ Association (VMTA) since 2021, Ellie is committed to inspiring her students through personalized and engaging teaching methods.
