Cellist Francesca Mountfort is a devoted teacher, performer and composer.
Originally from Wellington NZ, she studied cello with Rolf Gjelsten from the New Zealand String Quartet and with David Chickering, principle cellist of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
Francesca graduated from Victoria University of Wellington in 2002, and has since been performing with a wide variety of acts spanning genres such as gypsy, solo ambient cello, contemporary chamber music and has also collaborated with dancers and film makers.
Francesca is an experienced and devoted teacher. She has taught and tutored string ensembles at Rudolf Steiner, alternative and State schools, the most recent being Collingwood College and Santa Maria College.
Francesca offers twice yearly concerts and AMEB examinations, as well as teaching different styles and genres for those who are interested. She has been teaching cello since 1999 and welcomes students of all ages.
