Jessica is a warm and charming teacher. She enjoys teaching students of all ages, focusing on developing a good foundation of technique, musicianship, theory and performance to which she draws on from her background in both classical and jazz/contemporary styles for piano, voice and violin. Jessica looks to inspire and guide students to love to learn and to learn to learn effectively.
She is experienced in using online platforms to support teaching as well as group & one on one in person (when restrictions ease).
Jessica provides free (or donation) online content for her students to support practice in between lessons! This is especially useful for supporting, melody, rhythm, hand placement, and reading musical notation for instrumentalists and vocalists. It allows for students to be interactive with the sheet music, and check they are on the right track!
Jessica has a background in classical Piano, Violin, Voice (including choral), and but a love of contemporary music saw her to complete a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance with honours in voice in 2010. Jessica has performed around her home town of Wellington, Melbourne, the Philippines and China, and is also a member of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Chorus. Jessica’s background teaching for the successful Musikgarten School in Wellington, NZ has also encouraged her to begin creating her own curriculum for early education for pre-school aged children.
