🎵 About Me:
With over 15 years of experience in piano study and performance, I approach both music and teaching with a passion that reflects my deep connection to the arts. My musical journey began at age 5 under the guidance of Radiance Chen, and since the age of 16, I have been fortunate to continue my studies under the mentorship of Dr. Kenji Fujimura. Alongside my love for music, I also have a strong passion for literature, which enriches my perspective on expression and creativity. When I’m not at the piano, I enjoy figure skating and snow skiing—hobbies that bring balance and joy to my life. Currently, I am pursuing Engineering at the University of Melbourne while continuing my piano studies.
🎶 Qualifications:
– Full music scholarship recipient at a prestigious private school in Melbourne (Years 6-12)
– Awarded a piano diploma at age 15
– Achieved an ATAR of 43 in Music, with perfect marks in piano performance
– Ongoing piano performance studies at the University of Melbourne
🎵 My Approach to Teaching:
As both a student and teacher of the arts, I see the piano as a canvas where each student’s journey is a unique story to be told. My teaching is guided by a deep respect for individuality, blending technical mastery with artistic expression. I strive to make every lesson an opportunity for my students to discover their own voice, whether through:
– Classical piano repertoire
– Music theory and analysis
– Performance preparation
– Sight-reading & ear training
– Examination preparation for those pursuing formal exams and certifications
🎶 Why Learn From Me?
– My approach is informed by both my musical and literary interests, where I believe that understanding the narrative of a piece is just as important as mastering its technicality.
– I create an environment where learning feels like an exploration, encouraging both growth and the joy of music.
– I have experience teaching students of all levels and ages, helping them find their own musical language and rhythm.
