Julia Sykes School of Music is a piano school established by Julia Sykes in 1998. Students learn through the Sykes Piano method, a philosophy of learning the piano developed by Julia that is enjoyable, students progress quickly and they become very well rounded musicians. There are currently 5 piano teachers and lessons are offered in Shenton Park, Manjimup, Wembley, Mt Claremont and online. All teachers are qualified and trained Sykes Piano Teachers. Students have many performance opportunities every year. There have been many success stories of students that have learned through the school, that have gone on to work in the music industry and music has continued to be an important part of their lives. Emmy Hobbs helps run the administration of the school.

Julia has a Bachelor of Music Education and is qualified in the Kodaly Method. 19 of her students have gone on to pursue careers in music or have worked in the music industry.
Abigail Ng has completed her piano Grade 8 ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music).
Emily Chappell received and A+ grade in her AMEB Grade 6 Piano exam and 97% in her AMEB Grade 3 Theory exam. She reached Grade 8 piano and Grade 4 Theory. She graduated Churchlands Senior High School's specialist Music program with the Music Award.
Sarah Chappell has completed AMEB Grade 8 Piano and AMEB Grade 4 Theory. She graduated Churchlands Senior High School Specialist Music Program with the Dux award for Year 12.
Imogen Jacob has won Julia Sykes School of Music Student of the year once and multiple awards at the W.A. Performing Arts Eisteddfod.
Becky Francas has completed Grade 7 level ABRSM Piano and Grade 5 level ABRSM Music Theory and a Bachelor in Arts.
