Music and learning shouldn’t be boring.
I specialise in tailoring my lessons to suit every student’s learning abilities, styles, strengths and weaknesses. My main focus is to improve the student not just as a one-trick pony, but a strong and capable musician who doesn’t hesitate to feel confident when they’re learning on their own.
I am a Conservatorium -educated piano and vocal teacher, who has been teaching for over ten years and has worked with students aged 4 – 60+. I have experience in musical theatre both here and overseas, and as a composer have had songs performed here and in Europe.
In piano, I specialise in teaching classical music, music theory, aural skills, and musical theatre, but love to work on new repertoire. According to your goals, we can work towards exams or simply for pleasure.
For voice, my specialty is contemporary music, musical theatre and musicianship.
No matter what the style, I want to teach you in a way and at a speed that you understand.
I am able to teach at my home or yours, however prefer to do in home teaching and travel to you for your comfort. (For further distances a small travel fee may apply). Prior to our first lesson, I do ask for a small meeting to confirm that we are comfortable with each other.
(This will be arranged for the same time as your first lesson. The first lesson will not be a free trial, however you will not be charged for the extra time.)
I carry a card for working with children, have a Bachelor of Music (Classical Piano) and a Graduate Certificate of Music Studies (Vocal Pedagogy).
