Marcel Trussell-Cullen completed a Bachelor of Music (performance) at Auckland University then received a scholarship to do postgraduate study with the multiple Grammy award winning Emerson String Quartet violinist, Eugene Drucker. He studied with Drucker for 7 years in New York. Other teachers that he studied with include Mitchell Stern (American Quartet), Laura Park, (Assistant Concertmaster, Boston Symphony), Renato Bonancini (founder of Quartet Program), Lynn Chang (Boston Conservatory), Masuko Ushioda (winner Tchaikovsky Competition). Marcel has extensive professional performance experience in New Zealand, USA, Scotland, UK, Italy and Australia. He has been teaching for 38 years in Australia, New Zealand and USA and his most recent position was Head of Strings at Melbourne Grammar from 1996-2007.
