Margaret Brandman is a internationally renowned composer and experienced teacher of piano, music theory, ear-training and improvisation. Margaret is a fully accredited teacher and full member of both the World Piano Teacher’s Association and the Music Teachers’ Association of NSW. She is holder of the WPTA Diploma of Excellence in Piano Pedagogy. She is an experienced performer, recording artist, accompanist, multi-award-winning composer of music for orchestra, chamber ensembles, piano, and voice. Margaret Brandman is author and publisher of a range of forward-thinking music education materials. Music from albums produced by Parma Recordings USA: SENSATIONS, COSMIC WHEEL OF THE ZODIAC, ABRAZO,POLARITIES VOL.2 and SYMPHONIC CHRONICLES Vol.2 receives regular airplay on both Australian and International radio stations. She has twice won the Artemis Film Festival award for BEST FOREIGN COMPOSITION. In 2021 she won the award for her symphonic tone poem SPIRIT VISIONS ( on Polarities Vol.2 nv 6353) while in 2019 she won the award for FIRESTORM SYMPHONY III from her Sensations Album (nv6041). Both of these works were performed and recorded by the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2023 her Australia album Binna Burra Dreaming (cello with piano) achieved Number One position on the ARIA Classical and Classical Crossover Charts. In 2024, the Beecroft Orchestra premiered her FIESTA DE LA LUZ. In 2021 she composed a suite of eight Latin-American works for Australian violinist and orchestra leader Vov Dylan and his ensemble. The album is available from March 2025. These works are suitable for ensemble performances for the HSC. Many of Margaret Brandman’s works are included in the AMEB and AGMS syllabi for various instruments. Margaret is presenting at the AGMS ‘Spotlight on Pedagogy’ conference in February 2025 and continues to teach and inspire other teachers with her streamlined music education methods.
