Matthew has long enjoyed the delight and wonder of music. He began playing violin at age 10, nurturing a love of music that blossomed into the beginnings of a music teaching career in 2001.
Matthew is now a professionally qualified violinist with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music and a full member of the Music Teachers Association of NSW. Following his first eight years of teaching in Singleton NSW and Sydney, Matthew now teaches violin, viola and cello in Canberra at various ACT schools and at his studio in Ngunnawal.
Matthew has played violin and viola in various orchestral groups, including the National Capital Orchestra, the North Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Newcastle Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra. More recently Matthew has established string ensembles for his students to encourage them to develop their creativity in a larger musical group.
