I have extensive experience as a freelance professional musician and teacher. In Australia I performed with the Melbourne, Tasmanian, West Australian and Queensland Symphony Orchestras, several state opera companies, and in many ensembles for theatre, jazz, rock, and contemporary music. In the U.K. I worked with the BBC, more opera companies, West End musicals, various bands and ensembles, and toured Europe with Royal Shakespeare Company. I have taught music widely, taught English as a second language and worked as an academic editor. I am currently at Melbourne University researching the history of the vibraphone in Australian jazz.
