In the 20+ years that I’ve been teaching music, I’ve learned that every student comes to music with their own experiences, motivations and talents. It’s my job to encourage the best from them and I use a variety of approaches to achieve this. Some people are happiest when they have goals, like an AMEB exam to work towards while others prefer to work at their own pace. One person may be captivated by a passion for one style of music whereas another would like to explore the many genres that use their instrument. Adults beginners are as welcome as children and it’s never too late to resume lessons again if you want to become a better player.
