LIAN MARCIANO
Pianist, Piano Teacher, Chamber Musician
Lian began playing the piano at 3yrs of age, formal lessons at age 4, and performed publicly for the first time at 8yrs. Lian completed AMEB Grades Preliminary to 8 by her early teens, and attended a specialist music High School. Lian holds first class Honours Degrees in both Piano Performance and Law, and is currently completing a Master of Performance Studies (Piano) at the Elder Conservatorium of Music. Lian has been teaching since 16yrs of age and enjoys teaching students of all ages and abilities, provided they are enthusiastic about learning and music. Her teachers have included Stefan Ammer, Konstantin Shamray, and significantly, her long term teacher and mentor, Lucinda Collins (Head of Keyboard, Elder Conservatorium). Lian has also studied with eminent pianists/pedagogues in Europe such as Professor Karl-Heinz Simon ( Professor of Piano and Pedagogy, Hoschule fur Musik ‘Carl Maria-von-Weber’, Dresden, Germany), and from the Russian school, Professor Anna Malikova (distinguished Professor at the University for Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, Austria). Lian has recently returned from 5 weeks of performances and masterclasses in Europe, and is looking forward to sharing her experience with current and new students. Lian teaches from Lockleys, the dedicated piano studio at Stirling, Adelaide Hills.
To register for lessons with Lian, it is advisable to enrol ASAP as prime after school times are in high demand. Lian is a patient and caring teacher who goes above and beyond for any student who wants to put the effort in. She offers individual, shared or group lessons and runs the Music for Little Mozarts course for 4yr olds, group beginner classes for school children, and adult group piano course. In addition to regular weekly lessons, Lian can also prepare students for AMEB exams, eisteddfods and conservatorium auditions.
