Edinburgh born Queensland Jazz Singer, Trina Lincoln, developed a love of Jazz at an early age that was reinforced by her Grandfather, a jazz violinist who encouraged her to listen to artists like Stefan Grapelli and Joe Venuti.
Trina is the leader and vocalist of the Brisbane Jazz Group, Held To Ransom, which plays regularly around Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and is also the lead vocalist New Groove Jazz Ensemble, a regularly performing 20 piece big band based in the Northern suburbs of Brisbane.
She has been influenced by vocalists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Peggy Lee and Blossom Dearie and with the mentorship and guidance of Brisbane Jazz icon Ingrid James, and Sydney based vocalist and teacher, Jacki Cooper, Trina has developed her own particular sound and teaching style.
