I understand that every student is unique, I tailor my lessons to suit the specific learning style, pace, and interests of my students.* Whether they dream of playing classical concertos or pop songs, I develop a personalised curriculum with a basis in the AMEB syllabus*, that supports their goals.
In my younger students I nurture the development of discipline, responsibility and accountability in a positive and supportive learning environment. The violin is something which takes patience and practice, and for many young students learning to see that process through takes a lot of effort and mental grappling. Guiding them through this is very important to me. I love seeing my students make breakthroughs in their playing and understanding, and I see learning the violin as pathway for students to understand themselves better, and develop skills like focus, organisation, self-reflection, and motivation which help to guide them for the rest of their lives.
For adult beginners or those looking to return to the instrument, I care about understanding the reasons why you’ve decided to come and learn.
