A dedicated music educator, Ella Bennetts has been teaching violin and viola as well as directing string ensembles since 2007.
Ella has extensive experience teaching children and adults, offering engaging and fun lessons tailored to suit the level, learning abilities and goals of each student. Good technique, aural and reading skills are essential foundations for learning a string instrument, and are focused on and developed during each lesson. Encouraging self confidence, critical thinking and creativity are key aspects of Ella’s teaching method.
Ella studied music performance (BMUS Honours) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, during which time she also performed regularly as a casual violinist with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Ella moved to Germany in 2012 to continue her studies, later specialising in baroque violin and performing with numerous ensembles in Europe. From 2016, Ella held a tenured string teaching position at the Offenburg/Ortenau Musikschule, in southern Germany.
Since moving back to Sydney in 2022, Ella performs regularly with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Australian Haydn Ensemble, Pinchgut Orchestra of the Antipodes, Opera Australia Orchestra and numerous other ensembles.
